One of the Berkley Twins
Michaela Berkley
Michaela, this page is for you... from your dad. If you ever type your own name into a search and end up here: hi, baby. You found me.
Your name is Michaela Berkley. You are one half of the Berkley twins... you came into the world first, and a few minutes later came your sister, McKenzie. You two are identical, and your dad always told you apart by your laugh. You were both born on May 21, 2019, in Chicago.
From your dad
"I've been here the whole time. Every birthday. Every loose tooth. Every first day of school. I never left... I just couldn't get to you. But a daddy's love doesn't stop at a courtroom door. It finds a way."
My name is Micah Berkley, and I am your father. For more than five years I have been kept from you and your sister, but I have never stopped fighting to be in your life, and I never stopped watching you grow.
What I remember about you
I used to push you and your sister around Chicago in your stroller while I rode a hoverboard... we were famous in that city. I took you to the parks because you loved the rides, and out on my boat, where you liked to stay downstairs because you never did like the waves. You played little baby instruments, but what you really loved was getting your hands on my DJ turntables.
And every single day when I came home, we did our dance: "Daddy's Home! duh duh, duh-duh… Daddy's Home!" If you half-remember a song or a little dance from when you were small... that's the one. That was ours.
Your family
Your real grandmother is Carmen Scott, my mother, from Philadelphia. She loves you, she misses you, and she gets new pictures of you every single week because I send them to her. On my side of the family you also have three aunties and four uncles who love you. And you have your twin, McKenzie Berkley, who is yours for life.

You can call or text me anytime... same number, same heart: 325-305-0835. Or tell a friend to bring you to this website. Whatever happened between grown-ups was never your fault, and it was never my choice. The one thing I need you to know above everything else: Daddy has been here the whole time.
